1993: My Grapefruit Seedling

I included this page to show that you can used mixed media in your journal if you want. Here I drew the border with a black ink pen. Then I painted the seedling in the middle with watercolors. There is a funny story behind this little plant, too. One summer day in 1993, I peeled open a grapefruit to eat for breakfast and discovered that the seeds inside had sprouted. So I planted them. Today, more than eight years later, this little seedling is taller than me and has turned into a good-sized tree. -K
